Bodega Valencisco D.O.Ca. Rioja

Valenciso Winery, D.O.Ca. Rioja, was born in 1998 with the aim of producing unique wines in La Rioja Alta. The winery is located in Ollauri, a beautiful village of winemaking tradition.

At Valenciso, the essence lies in organic vineyards with low yields that guarantee maximum quality. Its 22 ha of owned and leased vineyards in the Rioja Alta, located between 480 and 610 meters altitude, preserve the health of the soil and the vine, respecting the natural environment and commitment to the land.

The influence of the Atlantic climate in this area, combined with the clay-limestone soils, creates the perfect balance for growing northern Tempranillo. The result is balanced wines, with a finesse and depth that reflect the nature of the vineyard and its surroundings.

Winery D.O.Ca. Rioja

The DOCa Rioja is one of the oldest appellations of origin in Spain, recognized for its excellence in wine production since 1925. In 1991, it was the first to obtain the category of Denominación de Origen Calificada, a seal that guarantees its quality and prestige.

It is divided into three sub-zones: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental. Rioja Alta, where our Bodega Valenciso winery is located, is famous for its century-old cellars and its humid climate, which allows for slower grape ripening. Rioja Alavesa, located south of Alava, is distinguished by its calcareous soils, ideal for structured and balanced wines.

The DOCa Rioja allows 14 grape varieties. Among the whites, Viura, Malvasía Riojana and Tempranillo Blanco stand out, while the reds include Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano. Monastel, a recovered grape variety, brings greater diversity to the wines of the region.

In our Bodega Valenciso D.O.Ca. Rioja we elaborate wines that express the essence of La Rioja. There is only one red wine per vintage, always in the Reserva category.

Our flagship is Valenciso Reserva, a 100% Tempranillo red wine aged in oak barrels, which gives it depth and complexity. Within our white wines, Valenciso Blanco stands out for its freshness and balance. For those looking for versatility, Valenciso Rosé is the wine for you.

Among our most exclusive wines are Valenciso Cemento, fermented and aged in cement tanks, surprising for its freshness and structure, and Valenciso 10 años Después, which is bottled 10 years after its harvest after being aged in cement in Caucasian oak barrels.
